What is aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is a holistic treatment using essential oils to improve the physical, mental and emotional health. Essential oils are organic compounds, extracted from plants and have powerful properties. Aromatherapy is a cost-effective way to promote healing, relaxation and well being without negative side effects.

What are essential oils?
Essential oils are extracted from the bark, leaf, flower, fruit, the seed or root of a plant or tree. They are typically created by the process of distillation where the water-based connections of a plant gets separated from the oil.

Essential oils are highly concentrated and have a strong aroma. A drop of essential oil contains literally the most powerful healing components of the plant.

Essential oils help the plant to adapt to its environment and serve as protection against environmental threats.

By using of essential oils for our health, we can take full advantage of the protective and healing power of plants.

Essential oils are composed of very small molecules, which can penetrate the cell wall. Some components of essential oils can even pass the blood-brain-barrier. This is the difference between essential oils and fatty oils (for example from vegetables and nuts), which are composed of large molecules and therefore not able to penetrate the cells in the same therapeutic way.
